cats and swirly bulbs don't mix

The only reason I don't get those lightbulbs is because the cats might knock them down, then the residual mercury will be absorbed into our brains and America fails. I though I could replace the overhead lights without worrying about that, but this video shows me that would still be a problem as cats can apparently float.
